The Xbox controller pad contains a USB hub. I had an idea about using it for adding two USB ports for a keyboard and a mouse when running Linux (e.g. GentooX ). This is the starting material, an old USB port from a PC and some USB cabeling.

Solder cables to the USB ports.

Adding a LED for some nice light ;)

Insert the curcuitboard into the upper memmory slot (had to remove the connectionport). Solder cables to the Xpad curcuit board.

Finally reassemble the Xpad

Sweet, eh?

How to rebuild your old round MAC omnidirectional 3.5mm plug microphone to work on a normal PC! First lift the rubber on the back and unscrew the little screw. Bend the mice appart.

Remove the small capcitor (2.2uF) and replace it with the big (22uF). Remove the diode.

finaly solder a bridge between the white and black wires. Done!
